MNA Ali Wazir gets bail from Supreme Court

ISLAMABAD: Parliamentarian Ali Wazir was granted bail by the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday.

According to Justice Sardar Tariq Masood, the rule of consistency was not followed in Wazir’s case which is why he was granted bail by the honourable court.

MNA Mohsin Dawar took to Twitter to congratulate his fellow parliamentarian saying: “#Congratulations Bench headed by by Justices Tariq Masood, Jamal Mandokhel and Aminudin Khan of the Supreme Court have granted bail to @Aliwazirna50. Ali has remained in prison for over 11 months for a speech. It took a long time but glad that Ali will be out on bail. #ThanksLala

Ali Wazir had remained in a jail cell in Sindh for over 11 months due to a controversial speech he made.

Ali Wazir was also not allowed to participate in parliamentary sessions including the joint session in which the PTI government voted on a variety of bills.
