LONDON: PMLN Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif is currently meeting her father and PMLN supremo, Nawaz Sharif after three years and her brothers Hussain and Hasan after four years.
Maryam travelled to London on a commercial flight from Qatar after her passport was released by the Lahore High Court.
Before the general elections in 2018, Maryam had travelled to Pakistan where she stayed for four years, most of the time in jail during Imran Khan’s tenure.
A grand welcome for the young Pakistani politician had been prepared by PMLN London workers who arrived outside Avenfield House in the dozens to express solidarity with their leader.
Slogans praising Maryam alongside Dhol Walas were also present to make the occasion more memorable.
Sweets were distributed amongst the people present, including PTI worker Safina Khan who also enjoyed fresh Pakistani style mithaye.
Hussain Nawaz Sharif welcomed Maryam outside Avenfield House which was packed with private security alongside police guards to prevent any altercations between PTI and PMLN workers.
PTI worker Shayan Ali was present at Heathrow Airport attempting to harass Maryam when she came but Shayan was unable to locate her at the airport.
Maryam Nawaz is currently meeting Nawaz Sharif at a time when Pakistan’s political spectrum has significantly changed from the time they last met – in custody.
Nawaz Sharif’s younger brother Mian Shehbaz Sharif assumed the premiership after ousting Imran Khan through a Vote of No Confidence.
Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz Sharif had earlier revealed that she would undergo a surgery in London, after which she is expected to fly back to Pakistan, this time, alongside her father.
