Maryam, Fazl, Nawaz meeting underway

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) leader Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz and Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman meeting is underway at his Islamabad residence today.

According to details, both leaders will dwell over the political situation and the opposition’s future strategy with regard to the next phase of the movement against the government.

Moreover, other cases and arrests against political leaders by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) will be discussed.

Former prime minister and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif also joined the two leaders via video-link.

It is pertinent to mention here that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in its CEC meeting in Karachi on Tuesday supported the decision to collect the resignations of all lawmakers to mount pressure on the PTI government, but also favoured the opposition taking part in the Senate elections in order to defeat the ruling coalition.

PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said “We will challenge the incumbent government from within the assemblies,” while addressing a presser at Media Cell of Bilawal House after the Central Executive Council (CEC) meeting.

Rana Sanullah, a PML-N stalwart has said that the opposition has yet to take a decision over contesting the Senate elections adding that the government will exert all force to suppress the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and the PML-N.
