Marriyum Aurangzeb assaulted by PTI workers outside Parliament

ISLAMABAD: PML-N leader Marriyum Aurangzeb was assaulted by Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) workers outside the Parliament which led to a physical tussle between PML-N leaders and PTI workers.

PML-N leaders were addressing a press conference when PTI workers surrounded them and chanted slogans in support of Prime Minister Imran Khan and PTI.

Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Musaddiq Malik, Miftah Ismail, Ahsan Iqbal and Marriyum Aurangzeb criticised the PTI government and Prime Minister Imran Khan. The PML-N leader called Imran Khan a ‘fascist’ and compared him to Hitler. 

On the other hand, PTI supporters cornered the PML-N leaders and started aggressive sloganeering further fueling the tense atmosphere.

The situation took a turn for the worse when the PML-N and the PTI supporters started pushing each other and exchanging hot words.

Videos showed Musaddiq Malik being punched from behind, after which Shahid Khaqan Abbasi chased down the man who pushed them.

A show was thrown at Ahsan Iqbal as he stood on a platform and chanted slogans criticising the government. 

The police was nowhere to be seen and did not provide any protection to the assaulted PML-N leaders.
