Nobel Prize winner, Malala Yousafzai represented her eastern roots on the cover of Vogue’s July 2021 edition. Tastefully titled, “The extraordinary life of Malala. Survivor, activist, legend,” the cover shows Malala Yousafzai in a traditional red shalwar kameez with a dupatta on her head.
“I know the power that a young girl carries in her heart when she has a vision and a mission – and I hope that every girl who sees this cover will know that she can change the world,” Malala wrote on Twitter.
Malala is a globally renowned education activist and the world’s youngest Nobel laureate. She hails from Mingora, Swat in Pakistan.
In 2012, Malala had been shot by the Taliban due to her impenetrable will to complete her education.
Malala’s father, Ziauddin Yousafzai tweeted a picture with the quote: “I know the power that a young girl carries in her heart when she has a vision and a mission”.
The iconic picture was photographed by Nicholas David Gordon Knight OBE, a world renowned photographer.
Senior journalist Wajahat S Khan tweeted: “From Swat to Vogue: @Malala is unstoppable.”
Earlier, Malala Yousafzai was also featured at #1 in The Pakistan Daily’s 30 Under 30 List.
