Liverpool Bank for the World Class Wirtz

Liverpool Bank for the World Class Wirtz

LIVERPOOL:

The golden boy of German football is going to become the new Premier League prince, as Florian Wirtz prepares to join Liverpool by Bayer Leverkusen for a recording fee.

Fresh from winning a 20th English Top Flight title, Arne Slot’s Reds have broken the bank to land a rising star that has already been described as one of the best in the world by former Reds Midfielder and former Wirtz Xabi Alonso coach.

The British media reported on Friday that Premier League champions had agreed on a record agreement of up to £ 116 million ($ 157 million) to secure the services of the attacker.

Liverpool can now agree with personal terms with a player who is covered by a number of top European clubs.

Wirtz’s plenty of potential as a teenager triggered a series between the Cologne of the Hometown Club and the Leverkusen five years ago, when Leverkusen, who are backed by the Bayer pharmaceutical giants, fell to sign him at 17.

Cologne argued that the agreement of a gentleman had not been violated by the youth group, but Leverkusen said Wirtz was a first -team signature and had made his Bundesliga debut in months.

His rise was interrupted by an injury to the cross -knee association in March 2022 that forced him to lose in the next 10 months.

By the time he returned, Alonso had settled as a boss of Leverkusen and would be promoting the biggest days of the club together.

Leverkusen finished the Munich Bayern Handle in the Bundesliga in a stunning way, with the title and the German Cup without losing a match at 2023/24.

Wirtz won his first hat-trick on the day the title was sealed against Werder Bremen, on his way to crowned Bundesliga player of the year.

“Flo is one of the leading players in the world, it is world -class,” said Alonso, who compared his protected by Lionel Messi for his understanding of the game.

“Why Messi is so good? Because he knows how and when to play simple passes.” Messi says: “Are you in a better position? There, you have the ball, “said Alonso, a 2005 Triumph Champions League hero in Liverpool.

“It’s not always to make the brightest move, but the best and smarter.
