LAHORE: In what is being considered as a new low for the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) in regards to political victimisation, the Lahore administration has sealed Butt Karahi after Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz Sharif had a meal there.
Under the guise of breaking COVID-19 SOPs, Butt Karahi which has been serving delicious organic chicken (desi murgh) karahi since 3 generations was sealed after pictures of Maryam enjoying Karahi went viral on social media and inevitably drew the ire of the PTI.
Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz Sharif has been leading mass public rallies and galvanising supporters before the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) Jalsa in Lahore on 13 December.
Hundreds of thousands of supporters have flocked to witness the rise of Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz Sharif who is also tipped to be the next prime minister of Pakistan.
Commenting on the development, Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz Sharif said: “The government is completely dumbfounded! Tauba (Repent)!”
Earlier, social media users and senior journalists praised the ‘awami’ style of Maryam Nawaz who enjoyed food while surrounded by her supporters on the streets.
Mohtarma Maryam Nawaz Sharif, whilst sharing a video of the delicious karahi further commented: “The Karahi was amazing”.
