Kim Kardashian’s SKKN ad under fire for ‘American Horror Story’ star’s seemingly ‘filtered’ and ‘blurred’ photos
Reality star and entrepreneur Kim Kardashian recently came under fire on social media for promoting her skincare brand SKKN with photos that appeared to be heavily filtered.
Kardashian recently posted photos on Instagram showing off her skin and endorsing her products.
However, commenters were quick to note that the photos looked overly smooth and unnaturally blurry.
Many questioned how realistic the photos were of someone selling toiletries.
One user noted that the filters and makeup used distorted what Kardashian’s skin actually looks like. Others pointed out the visible editing and bronzing that contradicts the message of natural skin.
One user argued, “You should be legally required to declare if you have artificially altered images when selling products.”
“But you have make up Kim,” another noted.
A third wrote: “Listen I love the Kardashians but celebrity skin care pisses me off. You all have the opportunity to spend literally MILLIONS on injections, lasers, peels, all the treatments to get the skin you have. There is not one skin care program on earth that will give you these kinds of results… it’s all a money grab with false advertising.”
“You can literally see the bronzer/blush on your skin… and let’s not forget the intentional use of the grainy filter to create ‘real’ skin. This is not it,” echoed a fourth user.
It’s not the first time american horror story star has faced accusations of unrealistic image promotion. Users have often noted heavily edited photos in her ads, claiming that no regular skin care regimen could duplicate the results of expensive treatments like the ones Kim Kardashian has.
