ISLAMABAD: Justice Qazi Faez Isa, who faced a presidential reference which was later quashed has alleged with proof, that several of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s advisors have unexplained wealth in the UK and several other countries but no action has been taken against them.
In a strongly worded Civil Review Application, of which Justice Qazi Faez Isa himself is the petitioner against the Federation of Pakistan and other respondents, the honourable Justice raises concerns regarding the legalities of the investigation into his non dependent wife’s assets in the UK.
Taking aim at Prime Minister Imran Khan, Justice Qazi Faez Isa held that: “Mr. Imran Khan objected that the petitioner does not disclose his non-dependent wife’s and non- dependent children’s properties.”
“Mr. Imran Khan refused to state if he ever disclosed or even now discloses the properties of his wives and children,” Qazi Faez Isa wrote in his petition.
Furthermore, the honourable Justice questioned the financial ethics of Prime Minister Imran Khan when he wrote how Imran Khan had made an offshore company to conceal a London property and took advantage of a tax amnesty scheme to legalise the property while Qazi Faez Isa’s family did no such thing.
“Mr. Imran Khan admittedly bought a property in London in 1983 (pg.218, PLD 2018 SC 114) without paying income tax in previous years to justify its purchase,” Qazi Faez held in this review petition. He Added: “Mr. Imran Khan concealed his London property behind the name of a Jersey offshore company (pg.205, PLD 2018 SC 114).”
Justice Qazi Faez Isa also questioned under what legal cover was the Assets Recovery Unit operating and under whose authority was Barrister Shehzad Akbar dictating organisations like the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and others.

Furthermore, Justice Qazi Faez Isa, whose family has declared their London properties provided a list of Imran Khan’s advisors who had undeclared properties in the UK and elsewhere.

In his strongly worded review petition, Justice Qazi Faez Isa also prayed to the court: “To direct that the hearing of this matter be broadcast live on television because the official respondents disclosed confidential matters affecting the petitioner and his family, then had them broadcast/published, then carried out a relentless propaganda campaign against them and prohibited the media/press petitioner from broadcasting and publishing his and his family’s version”.
