JUI-F threatens protest outside Peshawar Corps Commander House

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam leader Maulana Ataur Rehman announced that the party would be forced to stage a dharna (sit-in) against recent arrests of opposition members outside Corps Commander Peshawar’s house. He expressed these views while talking to a local news channel.

JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman was recently summoned by National Accountability Bureau (NAB). When asked to comment on the development, he asked that if Fazl is arrested, JUI-F party workers will hold a sit-in outside corps commander’s house in Peshawar.

In another speech, Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that he would not live without equality in Pakistan and if he did not get his rights, he would face the Pakistan Army like the Afghans faced the American Army.

Previously, Dera Ismail Khan Police registered a case against 300 workers of Jamiat Ulma-e-Islam (JUI-F) including the brother of Maulana Fazlur Rehman for violating Section 144.

According to details, the JUI-F staged a protest yesterday in front of Press Club against NAB arrest of Musa Khan Baloch, father of Tariq Musa Baloch, Personal Secretary of JUIF’s Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman and arrest of 150 workers in Paharpur protest.

The police lodged FIR under section 188pcc for violating section 144. The case was registered against Maulana Obaid-ur-Rehman, District General Secretary JUIF Chaudhry Ashfaq Advocate, General Secretary District Bar Association Akhtar Saeed Marwat Advocate, and 300 other party workers.
