LONDON: In a Dunya News talk show, Senator Faisal Vawda took a U-Turn on his previous claim that Mian Nawaz Sharif’s UK visa had been cancelled.
Journalist Azhar Javaid had reported that only Mian Nawaz Sharif’s visa extension application had been rejected and that the former premier had a valid 10-year valid visit visa till 2028.
In the show, Azhar Javaid revealed that the fact that Mian Nawaz Sharif couldn’t leave the UK after 6 months in stay as per the rules of his visa was the only concern of British authorities.
Nawaz Sharif’s Pakistani passport has been cancelled by Pakistan’s Interior Ministry.
Azhar Javaid had received a lot of flak from PTI supporters after he reported the facts on Nawaz Sharif’s UK visa and after Faisal Vawda rebuffed the reports.
However, in journalist Kamran Shahid’s show, after Faisal Vawda’s tweet was read aloud, the PTI senator then said that he implied that Nawaz Sharif’s visa will be cancelled and he meant it in the future tense.
Journalist Waseem Abbasi also tweeted a clip from the show saying that Azhar Javaid’s reporting had been proven right.
Commenting on the development, Azhar Javaid said that he stood by his initial reporting on Nawaz Sharif’s case.
