In an attempt to clear the air, British film producer and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, the ex-wife of Jemima Goldsmith, has made it clear that she is “unequivocally and passionately” in favor of a ceasefire in Gaza and a political solution for the Palestinians. .

Speaking on X, formerly known as Twitter, Jemima said: “For the avoidance of doubt, to those who ask, I am unequivocally and passionately in favor of a ceasefire in Gaza and a political solution for the Palestinians.”

In October, the British film producer came under widespread criticism online for taking “both sides” of Israel’s attack on Palestine.

“I stand with the innocent human beings on both sides of this conflict. Condemn both,” she wrote on her X handle.

In another post, he shared a short text-based post: “I support International Law and Human Rights. There is no humanity in political tribalism.” Her posts drew criticism from around the world.

In her new post on Friday, Jemima sought to clarify her position on the matter and said: “It’s worth noting that I’ve worked for @UNICEF_uk for over 20 years and in that time I’ve supported campaigns to end violence against children around the world.”

He further said, “this is the only time the call to end the killing of thousands of innocent children has ever been remotely controversial.”

It is pertinent to mention here that over 15,000 Palestinians — including more than 6200 children — have lost their lives due to Israel’s barbaric shelling of urban areas — including hospitals — in Gaza.

He also shared the UNICEF post which read: “UNICEF welcomed the temporary cessation of fighting and the return of children to their families. However, we continue to call for a full and immediate ceasefire and an end to the killing and maiming of children.”

The Unicef spokesman said: “The humanitarian situation in Gaza is so dire that anything short of a sustained pace and immediate emergency aid will spell disaster for the children of Gaza.”
