Sumitomo Corp. And SBI Holdings, two major Japanese companies, announced their decision to make a 20% bet each to the FPT Smart Cloud Japan, a subsidiary of the leading Vietnam Company, FPT Group.
The use of NVIDIA’s NVIDIA solutions at FPT Smart Cloud Japan highlights the importance of cutting -edge technology to satisfy the increasing requirements of AI industries that drives such as health care, education and construction.
The investment, which will close in May 2025, aims to support the growing demand for artificial intelligence applications (AI) in the region.
The FPT Smart Cloud Japan was founded in late 2024 to extend the operations of the company’s infrastructure and data center.
The deal highlights AI’s growing role in driving investment in data centers, which are essential for the supply of AI technologies.
This investment comes amid global impulse for improved infrastructure to meet AI’s increasing energy needs. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang recently met with Japan Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, exerting pressure on more electricity production to support AI growth.
Huang noted Japan’s leadership in robotics and industrial construction, stressing that energy is vital to the development of AI technologies.
Japan, which has historically faced challenges with energy resources, is exploring various options to tackle increased electricity demand.
These include the restart of nuclear reactors, increasing fossil fuel imports and even investing in a gas project of $ 44 billion in Alaska.
As AI technologies continue to transform industries, demand for energy, data centers and AI -powered solutions will only intensify.
Investing in the FPT Smart Cloud Japan and ongoing discussions in Japan reflect strategic efforts to build the necessary infrastructure to support the AI future.
