Imran Khan says ‘two professional killers of Waziristan hired for his assassination’

LAHORE: Former Prime Minister Imran Khan claimed that two South Waziristan-based killers had been hired to assassinate him.

Sources said that Mr Khan while chairing the session attended by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) spokespersons, claimed that the professional killers had also been paid to do so. He said that he had the evidence, sources added.

Earlier, Mr Khan said that efforts to debar him from politics were underway in order to bring former prime minister Nawaz Sharif back to the country’s politics.

Speaking to journalists of foreign media, the deposed premier while commenting on his “Jail Bharo Movement”, said it would be a peaceful movement during which he would be the first to court arrest. “It will take me two more weeks to recover completely from the injuries after which I will lead the movement myself,” added Mr Khan.

Mr Khan had, a few days ago, accused former president and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari of concocting a ‘new plan’ to kill him as he had links to a terrorist outfit. The PPP, in response, vowed to take legal action against Mr Khan. On the other hand, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto had said the allegations levelled by Mr Khan against Mr Zardari had exposed his family to increased threats.
