IG Sindh Mushtaq Mehar sent on 2 month leave after Capt Safdar arrest

IG Sindh Mushtaq Mehar has been sent on 2 month leave a day after reports of the police being pressurised to register a case against PML-N leader retired Capt Safdar.

Separately high ranking officers of the Sindh Police have requested the Inspector General of Police Mushtaq Mahar for a 60-day leave.

According to sources, several senior officers, including Inspector General of Police (IG) Sindh, have decided to go on leave.

The officials also include Additional Inspector General (AIG) Karachi, AIG Special Branch and several Deputy Inspector Generals (DIG) of police.

An application signed by AIG Special Branch Imran Yaqoob, making rounds on social media, says that he submitted the request for leave after the police high command was “ridiculed and mishandled” leading to the demoralisation of all ranks of the Sindh Police.
