The Cricket International Council (ICC) is under firefighter for what critics call on a “shocking hypocrisy”-which previously prohibits Australian USMan Khawaja to present a peace symbol in his bat, while Jay Shah president publicly supported the Indian.
Critics argue that the body was inconsistent as the Australian bang of USman Khawaja was blocked by the appearance of a Dove symbe late 2023 and the phrase “All lives are equal” to support peace in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, Jay Shah, the ICC president and the Secretary of the Cricket Control Council in India (BCCI), a joint support for the Indian army – increasing many to challenge the ICC policy.
Critics such as Malcolm Conn were one of the first to criticize the difference. Conn posted on X’s account (former twitter), questioning ICC’s attitude on both issues, while referring Times of India.
So @Uz_khawaja prohibited by the @Icc by the placement of a dove in his bat that supports peace in the Middle East but @Icc President Jay Shah, son of India’s interior minister, can openly support the Indian army during the conflict. Hard hypocrisy !!!

The post has caused a wide discussion on the role of Shah in the ICC and its wider influence on the world cricket.
When asked about Shah’s double roles, Conn replied: “He had resigned as head of the ICC?”
Since the world cricket is now a subsidiary of the Indian government through the sons of the Interior Minister who is president of the @Icc (Jay Shah) will always be India first. Sad irony the @Icc The President is willing to compromise the Cricket’s Showpiece event –

Critics pointed out that Khawaja’s peaceful message was apolitical compared to military approvals, causing further scrutiny of the ICC approach.
How can Jay Shah, the ICC president who stopped USman Khawaja to support Palestine 🇵🇸, pay tribute to India’s armed forces?
Pure hypocrisy pic.twitter.com/w8ftnkusrp

While the ICT maintains a strict policy against political messages in the field, observers argue that the rules are selectively imposed.
@Icc Comment on this? Sports authorities must remain neutral and irrelevant to this racism. This is not a person’s platform to act/support their country’s armed forces on a personal level and sabotage the common stage of sport under nationalism.

Jay Shah’s position as the son of Indian Interior Minister Amit Shah and the participation of the high profile in both Indian cricket and ICC has only intensified control.
Who is going to stop Jay Shah? He is president of ICC and has a particular tendency to India.
Having Jay Shah in this position he would always cause a conflict of interests for many stakeholders.
It is important that all boards including #Pakistancricket The Board of Directors must require its own…

Many are now calling on the ICC to clarify its standards and apply them evenly.
So far, the ICC has not publicly faced the dispute.
