Hold early elections or supporters will overthrow govt, says Imran Khan

MARDAN: Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday while calling out the former PM and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif said that the people will decide the future of the country and the time for real freedom has come.

Addressing a rally in Mardan on Friday, he warned the coalition government to give him the date for fresh elections or “the sea of people that is coming to Islamabad will wash away everything”.

Imran Khan said that he was not doing politics but calling the people to Islamabad for revolution and also urged the nation to support his cause.

The PTI chairman went on to say that he has never seen a coward like PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif in his entire life, adding that the former PM cannot make decisions of the nation by sitting in London.

He thanked the people of Mardan for a warm welcome. He told the charged crowd that the aim of his visit is to prepare the people of Mardan for Islamabad.

People must participate in the struggle for real independence of Pakistan, he said.

The ex-PM said that the US had threatened Pakistan with dire consequences if the no-confidence motion against him would not succeed. He revealed he had informed every quarter concerned about the “foreign conspiracy” to act against it, but in vain. He lamented that he could not foil this “foreign plot” as it had the support of “local handlers”.

“When I came to know about the conspiracy then I approached people who could stop it,” the former prime minister claimed.

“I told them that if this conspiracy succeeds, then our economy will falter given its current condition”

The PTI chairperson said he had sent former finance minister, Shaukat Tarin, to tell those who “call themselves neutral” that the economy will collapse, but they did not do anything.
