Harry Brook surpasses Joe Root to become the premier test batter in the world

In a significant shake at the top of the ICC men’s test games, Harry Brook in England has restored number 1, overthrowing teammate Joe Root after excellent performance in the second test against India in Birmingham.

Brook’s wonderful entries in the first entries helped him push him to the top, leaving the root in second place, 18 scoring points.

The Edgbaston test also saw a strong rise to Shubman Gill, India, who took significant steps in the ranking.

The Indian captain climbed 15 seats to secure a sixth career, following a brilliant 269 and 161 in the second test, marking his first victory as a captain.

Gill is now just 79 scoring points behind Brook, with only Root, Kane Williamson, Yasasvi Jaiswal and Steve Smith in front of him in the rankings.

Jamie Smith of England also enjoyed a remarkable rise, improving 16 seats to break at top 10.

In bowling, Jasprit Bumrah, India, remains the leading bandmate, despite the fact that the Birmingham test was missing due to the management of the workload.

His compatriot, Mohammed Siraj, also climbed to six positions up to 22nd after a steady performance against England. Meanwhile, Shamar Joseph and Alzarri Joseph of West India have increased six points, securing 29 and 31 seats respectively.

Noman Ali remains the only Pakistani player who will remain at the top 10 of the balloon test.

Shift of focusing on the ODI rankings, Sri Lanka’s Charith Asalanka gained ground after led to a 2-1 win over Bangladesh.

Asalanka went up to two positions to secure the sixth place between the ODI stroke just behind the top Gill.

Sri Lanka Batsman Kusal Mendis also saw a significant impetus, climbing 10 points in 10th after the player’s player against Bangladesh.

Babar Azam maintains his ranking at No. 2 in the ODI ranking.

With these changes, both the testing of the tests and the ranking ODI witnesses of an exciting shift, as the new stars go up and the established names continue to question the supremacy.
