ISLAMABAD/LONDON: Haqeeqat TV’s fake news busted after videos from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s press conference emerged in social media.
According to the details, Haqeeqat TV in its tweet while sharing the video, claimed that “the charge sheet is being read out against Shehbaz Sharif in the court, saying that you have stolen the aid of the flood victims.”
Haqeeqat TV’s fake news was busted after these videos came forward. This is a video of a press conference in which Shehbaz Sharif’s lawyer Alastair Pepper from the law firm Carter-Ruck narrates the allegations made by Daily Mail.
In a video, it can also be seen that London-based senior journalists including Murtaza Ali Shah from Geo News, Azhar Javaid from Dunya News, Syed Kousar Kazmi from SAMAA TV, The Pakistan Daily‘s Editor Hamza Azhar Salam and several other journalists attended the press conference.
While narrating the event, Editor of The Pakistan Daily Hamza Azhar Salam said in his tweet, “PTI’s propaganda cell is using this video to claim that Shehbaz was humiliated in a UK Court when in fact this is a video of Shehbaz’s lawyer Alastair Pepper from Carter-Ruck narrating the allegations made by Daily Mail. Some journalists including myself were present here.”
“As can be seen, this is a press conference with multiple media microphones, not a court of law, the two people seated besides Shehbaz are his lawyers from Carter-Ruck. I am an eyewitness of this event and am willing to share more proofs if necessary,” he added.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and economist Muzammil Aslam also raises the question.
Meanwhile, Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s political secretary, Zeeshan Malik has also slammed Haqeeqat TV allegations.
“Unbelievable how Haqeeqat TV and some other PTI affiliated accounts are spreading FAKE NEWS by sharing a video from a press conference from Shehbaz’s own lawyer & claiming its a UK judge in court,” said in his Twitter post.
