Govt decides to remove NAB chairman

ISLAMABAD: The government has decided to remove the chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

According to the reports, the government has decided to remove Chairman NAB Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal on technical grounds.

According to sources, the NAB Amendment Ordinance expires on June 2 and when the ordinance expires, the current Chairman of NAB will not be able to retain his post.

Sources said that the NAB Amendment Ordinance included a provision for the current Chairman NAB to continue his work till the appointment of the next Chairman and Justice (Retd) Javed Iqbal is currently working as Chairman NAB under a temporary arrangement.
