Govt decides to put Shehbaz Sharif’s name on ECL

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to put the name of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif on the Exit Control List (ECL).

A sub-committee of the cabinet will today recommend the inclusion of Shehbaz Sharif’s name on the no-fly list.

Federal Minister of Law and Justice Barrister Farogh Naseem and Minister of Interior Sheikh Rashid will attend the sub-committee meeting.

After the sub-committee gives its approval to putting the PML-N president’s name on the ECL, the matter would then be forwarded to the federal cabinet which would then give its approval.

Meanwhile, National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman had written a letter to the interior ministry, requesting for putting his name on the ECL so that he could not fly abroad.
