RAWALPINDI: General Headquarters (GHQ) has announced the details of the promotions, postings and transfers of various senior generals of the Pakistan armed forces.
Six major generals have been promoted to the Rank of Lieutenant General who include Major General Akhtar Nawaz, Major General Sardar Hassan Azhar Hayat, Major General Asif Ghafoor, Major General Salman Fayyaz Ghani , Major General Sarfraz Ali and MG Muhammad Ali.
Major General Asif Ghafoor had previously served as Director-General Inter-Services Public Relations.
ISPR also released details of new appointments and postings of the senior leadership of the armed forces.
Lt Gen Muhammad Abdul Aziz will serve as the Commader of the Lahore Corps.
Lt Gen Muhammad Waseem Ashraf has been appointed as the Commander of the Multan Corps.
Lt Gen Nadeem Ahmed Anjum will serve as the Commander of Kci Corps.
Lt Gen Khalid Zia is the new Commander of Bahawalpur Corps.
Lt Gen Sarfraz Ali has been appointed as the Commander Southern Command (Baluchistan).
Lt Gen Muhammad Ali will be the new Commander ASFC.
GHQ has confirmed that Lt Gen Majid Ehsan will be posted as Inspector General Arms, Lt Gen Syed Muhammad Adnan will be the new Inspector General Training & Evaluation, Lt Gen Sardar Hassan Azhar Hayat has been appointed as the new Military Secretary & Lt Gen Asif Ghafoor is the new Inspector General Communication & Information Technology.
