KARACHI: Media reports suggest that four people including Chinese nationals were killed in a van blast near the Confucius Institute at the University of Karachi.
Rangers, police and rescue officials arrived at the scene shortly after to shift the injured to a nearby hospital.
The Chinese nationals are said to be Chinese language teachers who had Rangers personnel for their security.
The Rangers personnel protecting the Chinese teachers were on motorcycles escorting the van.
The authorities have not yet commented on the nature of the blast but Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah took notice of the incident.
