DUSHANBE: Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi called on Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon at Presidential Palace on Wednesday.
The foreign minister conveyed PM Imran Khan’s best wishes to the Tajikistan president. He also shared with President Rahmon Pakistan’s perspective on Afghanistan and our focus on a coordinated approach to realise shared objectives of a peaceful and connected region.
He also discussed the importance of continued international engagement as shared responsibility.
“Pakistan looks forward to continuing to work together with Tajikistan for a coordinated response to developments in Afghanistan and for regional peace, stability and connectivity,” FM Shah Mahmood Qureshi.
Foreign Minister has undertaken the visit to four nations including Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan and Iran on the special direction of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The tour is aimed at holding consultation with the neighbouring countries to adopt a joint strategy to tackle the challenges faced by the region in view of the evolving situation in Afghanistan.
