The movie Fighterstarring Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone, is facing legal scrutiny as it has received notice from Wing Commander Saumya Deep Das, an Indian Air Force (IAF) officer.
As reported by India TV and Hindustan Times, the announcement revealed that the IAF uniform has significant symbolism, representing a steadfast devotion to duty, national security and selfless service and is not just a garment. The objection is directed specifically at an intimate scene involving the protagonists.
The legal notice, titled “Legal notice for defamation, insult and negative impact on the Indian Air Force and its Officers”, expresses concern over the inappropriate use of the Indian Air Force uniform in a scene depicting a personal romantic involvement. He emphasized that the uniform of the IAF represents the highest ideals of sacrifice, discipline and unwavering commitment to national protection.
The statement argues that such a depiction misrepresents the inherent dignity of the uniform and diminishes the profound sacrifices made by many officers in the service of the nation. “He embodies the highest ideals of sacrifice, discipline and unwavering devotion to the protection of our nation,” the report said. “By using this sacred symbol for a scene that promotes personal romantic entanglements, the film grossly misrepresents its inherent dignity and belittles the profound sacrifices made by countless officers in the service of our nation.”
In addition, the report said, “Furthermore, it normalizes misconduct in uniform, setting a dangerous precedent that undermines the moral and ethical standards expected of those charged with protecting our borders. technical field, while presented as romantic, is considered grossly unfit and unbecoming of an IAF officer as it goes against the high standards of discipline and decorum expected of them.”
This comes after Siddharth Anand’s bid collapsed at the box office as the Indian media labeled the film a flop a week after it hit the screens. Despite a promising start and positive buzz, Anand faced a major slump at the box office.
As for Roshan, Fighter he is now on course to be the second in a row to flop after his flop Vikram Vedha in 2022. Much to the dismay of Padukone’s fans, this will end the star’s successful streak at the box office, which began with Pathan last year, and marked a major setback for director Anand, who experienced his first slump in his 19-year directorial career.
