FBR says Maulana Tariq Jameel is an artist, took 10 lacs for nikkah
LAHORE/GUJRANWALA: Maulana Tariq Jameel who is known for his religious sermons and A list celebrity friends has come under fire after the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) said that the religious scholar was actually an artist/funkaar who takes money to read nikkah ceremonies.
TPD Investigations Desk has learnt that Maulana Tariq Jameel took a sizzling sum of 10 lacs to perform the nikkah ceremony of the famous Master Tiles X Jalal Sons wedding.
This development has shocked the fans of Maulana Tariq Jameel who believed that the religious man would never sell his services to the highest bidder in the manner that he did.
Fayyaz, a die hard fan of Maulana Tariq Jameel said, “Can’t believe MTJ did this, how could he sell himself for money? I respected him a lot and loved his bayaans but now I will never look at him in the same way.
“People used to say that Maulana Tariq Jameel only befriended VIPs and rich people but I fought against them, now I have lost all respect for him.”
Another former fan who spoke on the condition of anonymity said, “It really broke my heart when I heard Maulana sb had taken money to read Nikkah. This is unacceptable in our religion or culture.
“Shame on Tariq Jameel for using his religious fame to fill his own pockets,” the former fan said.
Tariq Jameel has been the subject of controversies in the past. He once claimed that pandemics occurred due to Allah’s wrath on women who wore small clothes.
This resulted in many people boycotting the celebrity molvi but after this development, it is clear that Maulana Tariq Jameel has lost his respect in front of millions of his fans.
TPD Investigations also learnt that Atif Aslam took over 50 lacs, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan took 55 lacs but Maulana only took 10 lacs. This has diminished Maulana Tariq Jameel’s value in front of his fans who have found out that his ‘rate’ is much lesser than his fellow artists.
