Exclusive: NAB, FIA secure evidence of Imran submitting fake documents in Toshakhana

DUBAI/ISLAMABAD: Imran Khan submitted fake documents in Toshakhana undervaluing the Graff set at 5.1 crores PKR, Umar Farooq Zahoor has claimed.

In an exclusive conversation with The Pakistan Daily, Zahoor held that Imran Khan had paid a measly 2 crores to Toshakhana for the set Farah later sold for $2 million using fake documents from an Islamabad watch dealer.

The document does not include any printed receipt but a handwritten receipt written with a ballpoint pen.

Senior journalist Rana Abrar who broke the Toshakhana scandal told The Pakistan Daily that the 2 crore payment made for the watch in the Toshakhana did not come from any of Imran’s own accounts but through a shady middleman.

Zahoor also revealed that Farhat Shehzadi has not yet sent a defamation notice to him or his lawyers.

Speaking with The Pakistan Daily, Zahoor confirmed that neither he nor his lawyers have received any defamation notice from Farah Gogi (Farhat Shehzadi) or Imran Khan.

Last week, various media reports suggested that Farah Gogi had initiated legal proceedings against Umar Farooq Zahoor after Imran Khan had publicly expressed the intent to sue Zahoor and journalist Shahzeb Khanzada & Geo News in the UAE and UK.

“I only found out that Farah had sued me from media reports,” Umar told The Pakistan Daily in a telephone conversation.

Responding to claims made by Imran Khan’s friend Zulfi Bukhari, Umar Farooq Zahoor said that Style Out watches had denied selling the watch and only advertised it.

According to Zahoor, he paid $2 million in cash to Farah Gogi in his office in Dubai.

“I didn’t want any non-Muslim to buy this watch since it’s a one-of-a-kind piece. I didn’t want any disrespect for the piece,” Zahoor said, adding that he was an ardent watch collector who owned over 100 watches.

“Those who made promises of Riyasat e Madina ended up selling the beautiful watch featuring the Holy Kabah,” Zahoor told this correspondent.

Zahoor questioned how the expensive Graff set reached him if Farah Gogi hadn’t sold it.

Earlier, in a bombshell interview with Shahzeb Khanzada on Geo News, Zahoor had physically shown the Graff set and stated that Farah Gogi had sold it to him in Dubai.

Whilst the authenticity of the Graff set was not challenged, PTI and Farah denied selling the watch to Zahoor.

Farah went as far as saying that she has never met Umar Farooq Zahoor, using her declared travel history as proof however, investigators in Pakistan are investigating claims that Farah used a passport from Vanuatu whilst skipping immigration in Pakistan.

Zahoor has also enjoyed personal relationships with various PTI leaders including Fawad Chaudhry and Shehzad Akbar.

Whilst Fawad Chaudhry claimed to not know Umar, screenshots of the duo reveal Fawad Chaudhry asking for favours from Umar Farooq, revealing a frank relationship.

Shortly after The Pakistan Daily reported that Zahoor hadn’t received any legal notice, Imran Khan tweeted that he had instructed his lawyer to initiate legal proceedings against GEO TV limited pursuant to the Pre Action Protocol for Media and Communications claims.

However, Khan curiously left out Umar Farooq Zahoor even though he had earlier used unsavoury language for Zahoor and committed to sue him.

Umar Farooq Zahoor held that it was easy for Imran Khan to have resolved the Toshakhana issue if he had asked for an open investigation and tried to find out who tried to make money from foreign gifts using his name and expelled the guilty from his party.

Zahoor further clarified that he does not have any social media account.
