Exclusive: Dr Aamir Liaquat says he has been broken by vilification campaign

ISLAMABAD: Dr Aamir Liaquat said that he has been broken by the vilification campaign against him and that he will silently leave Pakistan after the treatment meted out to him.

In an exclusive conversation with The Pakistan Daily, the disgruntled PTI MNA said: “My only fault is that I stand with Pakistan, I stand with Pakistan army, that is why Imran Khan is after me.”

Commenting on Imran Khan’s claims of an American conspiracy, Dr Aamir Liaquat said that he knew that there was no foreign conspiracy against Pakistan and his conscience did not allow him to be a part of any campaign against Pakistan or its armed forces.

“Aleem Khan left PTI, Jahangir Tareen left PTI but the party didn’t go after them but they going after me maybe because of my popularity,” Dr Aamir Liaquat told this correspondent in a telephonic conversation.

Dr Aamir Liaquat also hinted that Fawad Chaudhry and his media cell were behind the vilification campaign against him.

“PTI didn’t even spare Shahid Afridi and started maligning him when he extended best wishes to the new government, this is because people like Shahid Afridi and myself are popular and PTI can’t stand this,” he said.

Commenting on rumours that his wife Dania was involved in prostitution prior to the marriage, Dr Aamir Liaquat said that he brought her from a dark place and his intention was to save her life but his good intentions were rewarded with a smear campaign.

Regarding the videos in which Dr Aamir Liaquat is lip-syncing songs, he said that this was because he wanted to make people laugh and entertain them before he silently left Pakistan and people would wonder where he went.

“For 24 years I served Pakistan, people opened their fasts with me, I brought Pakistan happiness but now the smear campaign has completely broken me,” Dr Aamir Liaquat told The Pakistan Daily.

Dr Aamir Liaquat also criticised the people who spoke about his private videos saying that privacy was offered by Islam and whatever went down in a man’s home was between him and Allah and no one else needed to comment on them.
