Washington: Billionaire Elon Musk has offered $ 97.4 billion to obtain the non -profit organization behind Openai, The Journal Wall Street reported on Monday.

The evolution comes months after his billionaire message to start artificial intelligence to exclude it from a speculative business.

Musk’s offer could increase long -term tensions between Openai Sam Altman’s CEO for the future of starting at the heart of an explosion in AI genetic technology.

The two have already been involved in an ongoing trial. Musk criticized a huge $ 500 billion project called Stargate, which he announced with a large fanfare at the White House shortly after President Donald Trump returned to the office, suggesting that investors were involved did not fund the project.

Musk’s lawyer Marc Toberoff said he submitted the offer to the Openai Board of Directors on Monday, according to the report.

“It’s time for Openai to return to the open source, focusing on security for good once,” Wsj Referring to Musk in a statement given by Toberoff. “We’ll make sure that is happening.”

Openai, Musk, Toberoff and Openai Backer Microsoft did not immediately respond to Reuters’ requests for comments.

The offer is supported by Musk’s AI Company, which could be merged with Openai after a deal, the Wsj mentioned.

Musk founded Openai with Altman in 2015, but left before taking off the company. He founded the competitive AI Startup XAI in 2023.

Openai is now trying to go to a speculative profit from a non -profit entity, which says it is required to secure the capital required to develop the best models of artificial intelligence.

Musk’s lawsuit against Openai and Altman says that the founders initially approached him to fund a non -profit organization that focused on the development of AI to benefit humanity, but now focused on the production of money.
