Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris meets PM Khan in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad to discuss his investments in Pakistan.

The Egyptian businessman is a scion of Egypt’s richest family with a personal fortune to the tune of $3.1 billion according to Forbes.

Prime Minister’s Imran Khan’s close friend, Sayed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari was also present in the meeting between PM Khan and Naguib Sawiris.

Zulfi Bukhari also tweeted that it was a pleasure to host Naguib Sawiris in Pakistan.

The Pakistan Daily reached out to Zulfi Bukhari in order to ascertain the nature of the meeting.

In an exclusive conversation with The Pakistan Daily, Zulfi Bukhari denied having any financial deals with Naguib Sawiris saying: “No I have zero financial deals. He is a old friend. I always take him to the PM when he comes to Pakistan because he is a important businessman and has invested and given a lot to Pakistan Over the years. He is interested in creating a tourism city Pakistan along the coastal fronts. That’s what the discussion was for.”

Zulfi reiterated the fact that the meeting between Sawiris and PM Khan was positive for Pakistan and that the billionaire Egyptian businessman was interested in creating a tourism city in Pakistan along the coastal fronts.

Naguib Sawiris, who also serves as the Chairman of Ora Developers shared a photo with the team of EighteenPK in Pakistan, signalling that foreign investment in Pakistan was on the rise.

EighteenPK has invested a significant amount in various real estate projects in Pakistan and has been considered to positively contribute to Pakistan’s economy.
