ECP expresses anger over allegations levelled by federal ministers

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has expressed annoyance at the allegations levelled by the federal ministers.

A meeting led by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja also decided to seek proof of the allegations levelled by Azam Swati and Fawad Chaudhry. It also decided to issue notices in response to the allegations of the ministers and further action will be taken against them.

The forum said that the ECP is a constitutional institution and baseless allegations against it are unacceptable.

The ECP has sought a reply of the federal ministers’ press conference from the PEMRA.

Earlier, the meeting was briefed about the incidents occurring during a meeting of the Standing Committee and Aiwan-e-Sadr.
