ISLAMABAD: Senior Journalist Dr Shahid Masood apologized to Najam Sethi for his ‘35 punctures’ allegations.
According to the details, speaking on his program Live with Dr Shahid Masood on TV channel GNN, senior journalist Dr Shahid Masood apologized to The Friday Times editor Najam Sethi for inflicting 35 punctures.
Masood said that he apologized to Najam Sethi for alleging after the 2013 elections that Najam Sethi, who was in the caretaker government for the elections.
He further said that the sources from whom he got this news when the time came, he ran away and kept on searching.
“Just like Mr Sethi has a bird, you can call me a dove who spoke to me. I did not expect the gentleman from whom the talk came to say such a thing. Later, while searching for them, they disappeared in such a way that they were not found,” he said.
Shahid Masood added that he apologized to Najam Sethi and he will definitely meet him whenever he comes to Lahore.
It may be recalled that after the 2013 elections, Najam Sethi was claimed by the PTI that 35 seats in Punjab were rigged against him and its main character was Najam Sethi. Dr Shahid Masood had also said the same thing.
Later, when the Supreme Court commission was set up as a result of the 2014 sit-in, on one occasion Imran Khan, while talking to Hamid Mir on Geo News, withdrew the allegation and said that it was a political matter. “It was a political thing,” he said.
