Lodhran: District Administration Lodhran has launched a crackdown against individuals involved in hoarding of sugar and wheat, in accordance with the directives of the Punjab government.
According to a report issued by the district administration, action has been taken against hoarders, resulting in the seizure of 18,064 bags of wheat, while those involved in hoarding sugar have been fined Rs 89,000 and 19 people have been arrested.
Deputy Commissioner Syed Mashad Raza Kazmi said that the district administration is engaged in strict legal action against hoarders and profiteers, as per the orders of the government. He further stated that hoarders and profiteers will not only be fined heavily, but strict legal action will also be taken against them. He urged the trader community to refrain from hoarding and cooperate with the administration in providing relief to the people.
Deputy commissioner added that a large-scale crackdown will continue against wheat and sugar smuggling across the district. He said that strict vigilance is being maintained on internal and external roads of the district to prevent illegal transportation of wheat.
