Manchester City, Kevin de Bruyne, confirmed on Friday that he would leave the club at the end of the season.
De Bruyne, 33, has won 14 large trophies since he participated in the city from Wolfsburg in 2015, including six Premier League and Champions League titles in 2023.
“Nothing is easy to write, but as players, we all know that this day is coming to finally. This day is here – and you deserve to hear it first from me,” De Bruyne said in a social media position.
“Football led me to all of you – and to this city. Chasing my dream, without knowing that this period would change my life. This city. This club. These people … gave me [Everything]. I had no choice but to give [Everything] back! And guess what – we won everything. ”
The Belgian international has contributed to the rise of the city to the dominant force in English football.
He was twice a player of the year of the year in 2019/2020 and 2020/2021.
De Bruyne is second in the ranking of all time in the Premier League for aids at 118 and scored 106 goals in 413 city appearances.
‘One of the greatest’
“He is one of the greatest we have ever seen,” said Pep Guardiola city director.
“His aids, his goals, his vision in the last third, are so difficult to replace. What he did here for the last decade was excellent.”
De Bruyne’s contract is due to end in late June, but it remains unclear whether he will continue to see his days as a city player at the Club World Cup, which runs from June 14 to July 13.
“Every story ends, but that was definitely the best chapter,” De Bruyne added. “Let’s enjoy these last moments together!
De Bruyne has been linked to a move in the Saudi Pro League or the Major League Soccer in the United States.
The influence of the city’s captain has declined in recent times due to injury problems.
He lost five months last season due to a tear.
This season he has just made 21 starts in the 47 city matches in all matches, despite the Pep Guardiola side to match the standards they have set in the last decade.
The city stayed Thursday in the Premier League, 22 points behind Liverpool leaders and was comfortably hit 6-3 in a total of Real Madrid in the Champions League Play-Off.
De Bruyne won over 100 lids as part of the Golden Golden generation of Belgium, which finished third in the 2018 World Cup and the Euro 2016 and 2020 quarter -finals, but fell from the first major victory of the country’s tournament.
After breaking to Genk in his home country, the first experience of De Bruyne from the Premier League did not go well as he was rejected by Chelsea after just nine appearances for the blues.
A move to Wolfsburg began his career as he was crowned a German player of the season in 2014/15, as his side ended second in Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga.
The city’s $ 72 million move to bring him to Manchester was challenged at the time he was given at De Bruyne’s matches in Chelsea.
But he quickly proved his critics wrong and became an integral part of the side that under Guardiola enjoyed one of the most dominant sections of success in English football.
The city became the first English team of top flights to register 100 points in the first title of Guardiola in 2017/18.
A first domestic premium of the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup followed in 2018/19.
Then the city fits Manchester United’s achievement to the only English side to win the Premier League, the Champions League and the FA Cup in 2022/23.
