Daylight Robbery: How Imran Khan pocketed millions from Toshakhana

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has told journalists that former PM Imran Khan stole gifts worth a whopping 14 crore rupees from Toshakhana, sold them in Dubai and pocketed the money in the process.
The gifts were given by an Arab nation that included expensive watches and other jewellery items. The gifts are meant for the state of Pakistan but despite norms, Imran Khan is alleged to have made a killing from selling these gifts.
The FIA has also initiated an inquiry against Imran Khan and Zulfi Bukhari for being involved in this theft.
It has been alleged that Imran Khan paid a meagre amount of a few lacs to the Toshakhana for those items whilst selling them for 14 crores. This has been considered a daylight robbery by Imran Khan’s critics.
In response, Fawad Chaudhry had stated that Imran Khan had done nothing wrong by selling a few items from the Toshakhana.

“Doesn’t matter if the watch is worth 5 crores or ten crores, if the watch is mine and I sold it, why is there any objection,” Fawad Chaudhry held.
It is pertinent to mention that when Imran Khan became PM, he sold various items from PM House including cars, jewellery etc to raise money however, before leaving office, he allegedly bought cheap items from Toshakhana, causing a huge loss to the national exchequer.
Imran Khan has also been accused of facilitating the corruption and extortion racket allegedly run by Farah Khan.
Opposition leaders have claimed that no official could be transferred or posted in Punjab without Farah Khan receiving a cut.
Speaking to The Pakistan Daily, Bushra Bibi’s son, Musa Maneka said that Farah Khan had betrayed Pakistan and Imran Khan by flying off of the Dubai during a critical time.
Farah’s husband Ahsan Jamil Gujjar has denied any wrongdoing on his or his family’s part.
