According to FO, Dar plans to confirm Pakistan’s support for the Palestinian cause and call for the withdrawal of all Israeli troops in Gaza at the UAO meeting.
Pakistan’s attitude remains steadfast, “they reject the outrageous Israeli plan to expand full military control to Gaza and further emphasizes the urgent need to unveiled humanitarian aid and demanding the restoration of the legal rights of the people.”
Pakistan has firmly expressed its support for a ceasefire. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had welcomed the adoption of a resolution by the United Nations Security Council that requires immediate ceasefire in Gaza. Ambassador Asim Iftikar Ahmad, Pakistan’s permanent spokesman at the UN, addressed the General Assembly on June 17. He expressed his disappointment as a resolution that required an immediate ceasefire was vetoed by UNSC.
Dar plans to hold bilateral talks on the sidelines with the main OIC Member States during his two -day stay in Jeddah on August 25 and 26.
City of Gaza in ruins
OIC’s extraordinary meeting comes at a critical time, as Israeli troops continue their attack on the east and northern suburbs of Gaza. The Israeli army made a statement on Sunday, announcing that their troops are returning to Iabia to further expand to additional zones.
The deterioration of the Gaza state emerges during the OIC meeting, as the integrated food security phase signifies Gaza A level 5 described as “destructive hunger”, stating that one quarter of all Palestinians in Gaza is starving. According to the Gazan Health Ministry, the deaths caused by hunger and malnutrition are now 289, 115 of whom are children.
Israel’s plan to acquire the city of Gaza
On August 8, the Israeli government published a five -point plan “for Hamas’ victory” and “completing the war”. This plan approved by the Israeli cabinet proposes a plan to control the city of Gaza. “Israeli defense forces (IDF) will be prepared to take control of the city of Gaza, while providing humanitarian aid to the political population outside the battle zones,” the Israeli army said.
According to Israeli media, the plan will initially focus on full control of the city of Gaza, removing one million inhabitants south. IDF plans to take control of refugee camps located in central Gaza and areas suspected to host hostages.
Islamabad has reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to the Palestinian cause and completely rejects Israel’s plan to understand Gaza.
The plan faced wide criticism by different leaders around the world. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said as saying: “This action will do nothing to end this conflict or help ensure the release of hostages. It will only bring more bloodshed.”
Countries such as Australia, Finland and Turkey have opposed the plan.
What is OIC?
The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was founded in 1969 consisting of 47 Member States on four continents. It is the second largest world organization, which comes second only to the United Nations. OIC works to create a unique voice for the Islamic world. OIC had drafted a resolution demanding the immediate and permanent ceasefire in Gaza earlier this month, ventilated by the UN Security Council.
OIC recognizes the ongoing genocide in Gaza and holds the Israeli state responsible for the humanitarian disaster that unfolds there.
According to the official statement, OIC requires “the immediate overall cessation of Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip and the end of the ongoing violations committed by the forces held by political and political infrastructure in the Gaza Strip, West.”
