An accountability court on Thursday directed the jail authorities to provide all facilities to incarcerated PML-N leader Khawaja Muhammad Asif he was legally entitled to have in jail.
Presiding Judge Jawadul Hassan issued the direction, announcing the verdict on an application filed by Mr Asif, seeking facilities of better class in the jail.
Meanwhile, the jail authorities also submitted a reply to the court in which it was said that the applicant had been kept in a separate cell, he has been given the facility of TV and newspaper while the provision of heater and home-cooked food will be subject to the court’s order.
The judge further directed the jail authorities to provide home-cooked food, a room-heater and medical facilities to the former Defence Minister.
Khawaja Asif is on judicial remand in an inquiry into his alleged illegal assets initiated by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
