COAS General Qamar Bajwa hosts AJK PM, Afghan Ambassador

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday hosted the prime minister of Azad Kashmir and the Afghan ambassador to Pakistan in separate meetings.

The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that “The army chief welcomed the Afghanistan ambassador and expressed the hope that his services will help optimize Pakistan- Afghanistan bilateral relations.”

Matters pertaining to defence and security cooperation between Pakistan and Afghanistan were discussed.

“Regional security situation, the ongoing Afghan Peace Process, border management and defence and security cooperation were discussed [during the meeting as well],” ISPR said.

Separately, COAS Gen Bajwa hosted the AJK Prime Minister where matters of mutual interest particularly, the situation on LOC & IIOJ&K were discussed.

Gen Bajwa reiterated Pakistan Army’s utmost support and commitment to the Kashmir cause and the people of Kashmir.

Previously, a controversy was made when a treason case had been made against the AJK Prime Minister due to his affiliation with the PML-N.
