QUETTA: After talks between the government and the Shia Hazara protestors succeeded, it was decided that the protestors would bury their bodies and that Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa and Prime Minister Imran Khan would visit the grieving families.
The arrival of the Prime Minister and the army chief was announced by deputy speaker, Qasim Suri.
Thousands of Hazara protesters had organised a protest at the Western Bypass in cold weather of minus 10 degrees celsius for the last six days against the brutal execution of 10 Hazara coal miners in Machh.
Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi said: “Incidents of violence must now come to an end.”
The minister, who had spearheaded talks on behalf of the government, said that a written agreement had been signed with the Shuhda Action Committee.
“No such written accord has ever been struck before with any other government in power,” he said.
