A boxing match between Canelo Alvarez and Jake Paul was close to finalization, but slowly fell into the negotiations.
Instead of facing Paul, Alvarez will fight William Scull for his undisputed Super Middleweight title on May 3 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
After the collapse of the race, Paul took the social media to criticize Alvarez, urging former UFC champion Michael Bisping to shoot back.
“Jake Paul is in it again, making an absolute fool of himself. Canelo Alvarez call, making videos dancing to a sombrero, do not respect and saying that Canelo is playing him,” Bisping told YouTube channel.
Bisping rejected Paul’s claim that Alvarez was avoiding him.
“Obviously, everyone was signed to fight, but then he (Alvarez) is terrified. He left Saudi Arabia, selling his soul and everything else,” Bisping said. “Close Hell, Jake Paul!”
Alvarez (62-2-2) is a four-way world champion and the only boxer to keep the undisputed Super Middleweight title. Bisping defended Alvarez’s legacy and hit Paul (11-1) for the advertising campaign.
“Jake Paul was a huge businessman, okay, he is not a fighter,” Bisping said. “Fighters are looking for real matches. They go out on rings where they don’t know if they are going to win.”
Paul has built a boxing career through self -promotion, but Bisping has rejected his credentials.
“Every time, he claims to be the bad mother *** ER. Not,” Bisping said. “It’s a YouTube star, a Disney star, a businessman. Fair game – he has made a lot of money.”
Bisping also emphasized the weight and height difference between Paul and Alvarez.
“Canelo in 166 pounds, maybe walking around 175, Jake Paul is about 220 pounds. This is a 60 -pound difference, called Bisping,” Bisping said.
Despite the size difference, Bisping believes that Alvarez will still win. But he is happy that Alvarez does not risk tarnishing his career, fighting Paul.
