Case registered against KP Health Minister Taimur Jhagra for violating SOPs

PESHAWAR: The Peshawar police on Tuesday registered a case against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Health Minister Taimoor Jhagra for violating coronavirus SOPs.

The health minister, along with his friends and other PTI supporters, attended an iftar at a private hotel on Monday night in the city where precautionary measures against the deadly virus were not followed.

Most of the attendees, including the health minister, did not wear masks and were found violating social distancing rules.

The restaurant was also sealed after photos of the Iftar-dinner surfaced on social media.

The government has banned outdoor and indoor events in restaurants. Prime Minister Imran Khan and the National Command and Operation Centre have been urging people to wear masks.
