Manchester United Captain Bruno Fernandes rejected a lucrative offer from the Saudi Pro League Club Al Hilal, choosing instead to continue playing football in Europe.
The 30 -year -old Portuguese midfielder had allegedly offered a weekly salary of about £ 700,000 by Al Hilal – an offer that would have completed him about 65 million pounds per season, including bonuses and other incentives.
Despite the eye proposal, Fernandes decided not to leave Old Trafford for the Middle East.
Fabrizio Romano said the decision had its roots in Fernandes’ desire to remain competitive at the highest level in Europe.

Fernandes made 36 Premier League appearances during the 2024-25 season, contributing 8 goals and 10 assists.
His leadership and creativity in the middle section were central to Manchester United’s efforts, especially during a transition period under director Ruben Amorim.
The offer by Al Hilal is part of a broader push for hiring by the Saudi clubs, which have already lured several European high profile stars.
However, Fernandes’s rejection is regarded as a thrust for United, whose fan base expressed his concern about speculation about the future of the captain.
While it remains unclear whether Fernandes could seek a move elsewhere in Europe later in the summer, his refusal to participate in Al Hilal marks his continued commitment to top -level football.
The club recently reinforced its offensive choices with the signature of Matheus Cunha, although Fernandes remains a crucial element of United’s Midfield regulation.
