Boris Johnson congratulates Shehbaz Sharif on becoming Pakistan’s PM

LONDON: British Prime Minister Boris Johnson on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on assuming his office.

In a tweet, Johnson said, “Congratulations to Shehbaz on his election as Prime Minister of Pakistan. The UK & Pakistan have a longstanding relationship and our people share deep ties.”

“I look forward to working together on areas of shared interest,” he added.

Earlier, Saudi Arabia’s King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on assuming his office.

According to the details, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Deputy Prime Minister has sent a cable of congratulation to Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on the occasion of taking the oath of office as the New Prime Minister.

In his cable, the Crown Prince expressed his sincere congratulations and best wishes of success and happiness to the Prime Minister.

On the other hand, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of United Arab Emirates has felicitated Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on assuming his office.

A post of the UAE embassy on Twitter said the UAE crown prince sends a congratulatory message to Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on his election as the prime minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
