ISLAMABAD: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has taken the oath as Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, making him the youngest Pakistani ever to hold this post.
President Arif Alvi administered the oath to the 33 year old politician who also serves as the Chairman of Pakistan People’s Party.
Shortly before the oath, Bilawal’s sister Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari tweeted: “”Today Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari will take oath as Pakistan’s foreign minister in this unity government — decided by [the] PPP CEC (central executive committee) and we couldn’t be more proud of him! Already outshone in parliament and always stuck to his democratic values — excited to witness this path if God wills.”
Bilawal is following the footsteps of his grandfather Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto who also served as Foreign Minister at the age of 35.
