
The Balochistan High Court (BHC) ordered to quash all the first information reports (FIRs) registered in the province against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Senator Azam Swati, on Friday.
The court was hearing a plea filed by Swati’s son to drop the cases against his father.
Five FIRs were registered in Balochistan against Swati for his controversial tweets against senior military officers.
The Balochistan police had arrested him from Islamabad and brought him to Quetta.
On December 6, the Balochistan High Court had ordered the provincial police not to register any more cases against PTI Senator Azam Swati who was brought here from a hospital in Islamabad in a one of several cases registered here.
A Quetta’s district court remanded the senator in police custody for five days on Sunday, a week after the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested him in Islamabad in a case pertaining to controversial tweets against the military.
