Former prime minister Benazir Bhutto and former president Asif Ali Zardari’s eldest daughter Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari on Friday tied the knot with UAE-based businessman Mahmood Chaudhry.
On the occasion, her Brother and Chairman Peoples Party Bilawal Bhutto Zardari shared an emotional and heart-warming message on Twitter.
While sharing photos Bilawal wrote, “Happiest moment in many years to see my sister Bakhtawar getting married. Felt like our mother was watching over us in this moment of joy. Wishing them both all the best for their new life together. Masha’Allah! Red heart.”
Bakhtawar Bhutto’s nikkah was solemnized by Maulana Ghulam Muhammad Soho of Thatta. The nikkah ceremony was attended by close members of the Bhutto and Zardari families and close relatives of the groom.
The guest count was kept limited to only 300 people due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
Festivities for the wedding kicked off earlier this week with a Milad ceremony, which was organized on January 24. This followed by an intimate Mendi ceremony at Bilawal House. The Barat is scheduled for the 30th of January.
PPP Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has suspended his political activities for a week to participate in his sister’s wedding, Party spokesperson said.
Commenting on the development, Senator Sehar Kamran said: “My prayers and best wishes are with Bakhtawar Bibi and all family members. Bakhtawar is very dear to me, in all these years developed a special bond of love and affection with her.
“Allah Almighty may shower His countless bounties on her and her life partner and bless the lovely couple with everlasting happiness, inspiring and wonderful future, togetherness with mutual trust, love and respect, Allah Almighty may always protect them from all evil eyes, and bless with prosperous, successful and joyful life, Aameen.”
