Azerbaijan-Pakistan diplomatic relations: A tale of friendship and cooperation

Historical Background of Azerbaijan-Pakistan Relations Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan have been established since the early 90s of the last century – after the collapse of the Soviet Union and Azerbaijan’s independence. Friendship based on mutual respect, trust and common interests exists between the peoples of the two countries. Pakistan was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of Azerbaijan in 1991 and created a foundation for a sustainable and effective partnership. Support in the Patriotic War Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations successfully emerged from the 44-day Patriotic War in 2020. Official Islamabad’s moral support to Baku was not only
