Sindh requests NCOC to make vaccination certificates mandatory for banking services

KARACHI: The Sindh health department on Sunday wrote a letter to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC), seeking to make commercial banks, post offices and courier services bound to “offer their services only to people who are vaccinated through verifying their Nadra vaccination card.” Separately, the health department in order to “make the vaccination drive more successful” has sent a letter to the home department, asking the restaurants/hotels may “provide their hospitality services (check-in/outdoor dining services) to only those people who are vaccinated.” It urged the home secretary to issue “necessary directions” to the concerned quarters for strict compliance

6 kg uranium seized in India, 7 arrested

NEW DELHI: Police in India have arrested seven people and seized 6kg of uranium from their possession, Indian media reported on Friday, marking the second time within a month that unauthorized personnel in the country have been found with uranium, a material crucial for nuclear production. Four dead as sudden dust storm, gusty winds wreak havoc in Karachi

Pakistan records highest COVID-19 death toll in a single day during 2021

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday recorded 135 deaths in the last twenty-four hours, its highest single-day coronavirus death toll during the current year, a government portal showed, as a third wave of COVID-19 sweeps through the country. During the period, 4,681 fresh infections were reported from across the country.
