ISLAMABAD: ARY is under fire for spreading misinformation about former Pakistan ambassador to the United States Asad Majeed.
According to the details, ARY News has claimed that former Pakistani ambassador to the US Asad Majeed refused to change his statement despite government pressure.
According to ARY, Asad Majeed was pressured by the government to change his statement but he refused to change his statement. Asad Majeed said that the fact that threatening language was used in the letter, how can I say that it is not an interference in internal affairs.
Earlier, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb also rejected a news item reported by a private TV channel about the National Security Committee (NSC) meeting, held on April 22.
In a statement, she termed the news “concocted”, “misleading” and against the national interest.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said the debate on the so-called regime change and foreign conspiracy just got fizzled out after the release of the NSC meeting’s statement which made it clear that there was no conspiracy against the previous government. Those who were trying to portray the ouster of government as a conspiracy were themselves hatching a conspiracy against the country, she added.
Without naming the news channel which ran the news based on sources claiming that former Pakistan ambassador to the United States Asad Majeed was adamant that threatening language was used in the much talked about letter, she accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan of feeding fake stories to “a section of media”.
The minister for information said Asad Majeed presented his stance before the meeting which carefully examined the “context” and “content” of the telegram purportedly sent by him to the PTI government.
