Pop superstar Ariana Grande has revealed she tested positive for Covid-19 while promoting her upcoming film ‘Wicked: For Good’, raising new concerns about her health and well-being.
The announcement, shared via social media on Nov. 20, follows her Nov. 18 appearance on “The Tonight Show,” captioned “moments before Covid.”
Grande’s diagnosis comes amid a difficult press cycle, as his co-star Cynthia Erivo has recently suffered voice problems. The setback is expected to force Grande to miss several promotional events for the sequel, which was released on Friday in 2025.
This is the second time both performers have contracted Covid, after falling ill separately during the first ‘Wicked’ film in 2024, potentially affecting the film’s marketing momentum. Fans have been increasingly scrutinizing Grande’s health, especially after she looked noticeably thinner during the promotional period.
Her transformation has drawn attention online, with speculation linking it to her demanding schedule, past battles with PTSD, anxiety, depression and her continued focus on mental health.
Grande has previously criticized her body, urging the public to recognize that “healthy can look different” for everyone. Despite these challenges, Grande remains creatively active.
She confirmed that her upcoming ‘Eternal Sunshine’ tour, which kicks off June 6 in Oakland, will serve as her “last leg” before an extended hiatus from major touring. Limited North American dates include Los Angeles, Austin, Atlanta, Brooklyn and Boston, wrapping up in Chicago on August 5, followed by 10 shows in London – her most significant UK shows in years.
Alongside touring, Grande continues her acting career with a role in the comedy ‘Focker In-Law’, part of the ‘Meet the Parents’ franchise. Balancing music, acting and promotions, Grande maintains a busy schedule while managing the public’s renewed concern for her health.
